Mallorca 2010 Arrangements
The trip will be from 23rd April to 30th April 2010 flying direct from Belfast to Palma de Mallorca on Easyjet. As usual each person is responsible for making their own flight arrangements.
Accommodation:
This year we are staying in the Hotel Daina, a three star hotel in the heart of Puerto de Pollensa, on the seafront. The hotel has been well frequented by us over the past number of years for coffee (San Miguel?) and cake after our cycle run.
Unlike previous years we are staying half board in order to keep the costs down.
It is working out at about £175 per week based on two sharing a twin room with balcony and a sea view. I have booked rooms for all who have confirmed that they have bought a flight but there is still a bit of time – up to 31st January - to join the trip as I believe I can still guarantee accommodation in the Daina up until that date. Deposits have been paid and rooms booked by me.
As usual we will add an extra two pounds per day per person to cover any other costs/euro fluctuations. Any surplus will go to the lunch fund for the first couple of days
Transfers:
I will finalize the transfer cost in mid February when I have the final numbers travelling. It will be slightly more expensive than last year as we have fewer people travelling and the cost of the coach is divided between fewer people but I anticipate that it will be about £30 per person return plus £20 per bike return.
The total cost should work out at about £220 per person for half board and the transfer with the bike transfer extra.
Bike hire:
Most people are taking their bikes but bike hire can be sourced from our usual supplier www.procyclehire.com I would advise contacting directly asap in order to ensure you get the machine of your choice.
Insurance:
Make sure you take out insurance and don’t come without proper insurance for cycling. Ordinary travel insurance will not cover you for the cycle touring we will be doing so make sure you take out sports cover. I use www.essentialtravel.co.uk grade two sport activities which covers cycle touring.

Payments:
Deposit for accommodation of £40 to be paid by 16th January, with balance for accommodation by 16th February. I will advise of the final costs by 9th February.
Final balance for transfers and other costs (the two pound per day) paid by the 16th March. Cheques preferred, made out to Gerry Lundy
